About St. Anthony School
St. Anthony School is a fully accredited, Catholic elementary school serving Kindergarten through eighth grade students. The school is a vital part of the Diocese of Columbus educational program. St. Anthony School is located on the north side of Columbus, just 1.5 miles north of St. Francis DeSales High School. Although we are a Catholic School, children of all faiths are welcome here. With an an exceptionally talented teaching staff and dedicated administration, the school has enjoyed overwhelming success in the development of students who are confident, self-directed, life-long learners. Each grade level has 1 class consisting of approximately 24 students. This smaller class size teaching environment is one of the reasons St. Anthony is so successful when it comes to educating children. The family like atmosphere is one of the most commonly cited reasons why parents and students select St. Anthony School.
The normal school day begins at 8:00am and ends at 2:30pm. Students attend school each weekday from late August to early June with the usual breaks for Christmas and Easter and other minor holidays throughout the school year. Students who live in close proximity to the school either walk or are driven to school each day. Busing transportation is offered to children who live a further distance from the school. There is a separate bussing arrangement made for children living within the Columbus Public School District and those living within the boundaries of the Westerville Public Schools.
At St. Anthony, the focal point of our Catholic Education is Jesus Christ who is at the center of our daily lives at St. Anthony School. Academically, religious instruction is provided for students daily during a structured class. The objectives are developed for grades K through 8 using the Diocesan Graded Course of Study. We also provide opportunities to receive the sacraments under the direction of our Religious Education Coordinator, Judy McElwee, and the support of our pastor, Fr. Mark Ghiloni. The school community shares in weekly liturgy. We also participate in projects, which serve those in need throughout the community. The following are examples of our school’s social service projects:

the 4th grade class with the help of our
amazing art teacher, J. Steve Kelley. The
actual picture, which stands about 5 feet
high and 4 feet wide, adorned the school
wall during Catholic School's week.
