The goal of the St. Anthony Athletics Commission (SAAC) is to unite the youth of St. Anthony School to promote their spiritual, physical, and social welfare by bringing Catholic truths, principals, and ideas into everyday life through athletics. The athletic programs are intended to be character builders, reflecting the ideas of good sportsmanship and Christianity.
SAAC sports programs are for girls and boys in grades 4–8. Games are played against other Catholic schools according to Diocesan rules. If there are not enough St. Anthony players to form a team, players are combined with St. James and/or St. Matthias teams.
Little Stallions Basketball is NOT a diocesan league but offers fun and instruction for grades K–3. Non-competitive boys’ teams and girls’ teams consist of players from St. Anthony, St. James and St. Matthias.
In order for students to participate in the school sports program, students must maintain satisfactory grades and good moral character (has no recent demerits).
Visit the Diocese of Columbus Recreation Website for the Parental Consent and Photo Release Forms.

SAAC Volunteers and Fundraising
Coordinating a complex schedule of sporting events for multiple grade levels requires numerous volunteers and funds beyond players’ entry fees.
Commissioners, coaches, officers, maintenance and concession stand volunteers are always needed.
Fundraisers like the Pancake Breakfast and St. Tony’s Longhorn Pizzeria are always looking for volunteeers to set up, cook, serve food and clean up.
Please contact SAAC Atheltic Director Bill Cain by email (click here) or by phone at (614)593-5903.
Please note: All volunteers must complete “Protecting God’s Children” and be fingerprinted.
