Spring Sports

Northern Stallions Baseball – Commissioner: Open.
Begins in March.

  • Boys in grades 4–8.
  • If there are not enough boys to form a team, players will be combined with St. Matthias and St. James.
  • Players will recieve uniforms (including socks) and equipment–batting helmets, bats and balls.
  • Players need to provide gloves and cleats.

Northern Stallions Softball – Commissioner: Open.
Begins in March.

  • Girls in grades 4–8.
  • If there are not enough girls to form a team, players will be combined with St. Matthias and St. James.
  • Diocesean softball utilizes Fast Pitch Softball Rules. There are 10 players on the field and games last 6 innings or 1.5 hours.
  • Players will recieve uniforms (including socks) and equipment–batting helmets, bats and balls.
  • Players need to provide gloves and cleats.

Track – Commissioner: Open
Begins in March.

  • Teams are combined with St. Matthias and broken down by grade and gender:
    grades 4–5 boys, grades 4–5 girls
    grades 6–7 boys, grades 6–7 girls
    grade 8 boys, grade 8 girls.
  • Practices are held at St. Matthias or DeSales. Meets are held at DeSales or Grove City High School.
  • Meets are an all-day commitment (9:00am–4:00pm) on Saturdays during April and May.
  • Teams compete in the following events:
    Grades 4–5: softball throw, long jump, shot-put, 50m dash, 100m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 200m shuttle relay, 400m relay, 800m relay.
    Grades 6–8: high jump, long jump, shot-put, discus, 100m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 800m run, 100m run, 400m relay, 800m relay, 1600m relay, 110m low hurdles, 200m low hurdles.
